In 1976 I walked into a theatre that would transform my life both in that moment and in my future. This theatre was Willowcreek Community Church. The Lord introduced me to drama in the church and it was there that I began a journey that would take me from the stage of this local church to church stages around the world.
But acting was only a small part of my eventual ministry. In 1981 I began writing scripts for youth ministry. Shortly thereafter, I expanded my focus to include adult audiences, and today I continue writing, directing and developing drama teams at Heartland Community Church.
In 1991 the Lord called me to begin teaching others what I had been learning for 15 years. I began meeting with local church drama teams, helping them define their own vision and coming along side them as they moved into the next step of their ministry. I've had the great priviilege of traveling from New York to Hawaii, Australia to Poland.
In 2000 I received my first of several recurring invitations to bring drama teams to conferences. Our team performed for Amsterdam 2000, The Foundation, Youth for Christ, and The Gathering.
Truth Driven Drama was launched March 2004. Two years later in 2006 I joined the staff of Heartland Community Church in Rockford, Illinois as their Drama Director.
